To download data from a ThermaViewer to a
PC you need the cable that came with your
unit. (It is a ten foot cable with a DB9
connector on one end and a stereo plug on the other. A replacement can be ordered
from the factory. Serial to USB converters are also
available.)
Accessing the ThermaViewer over a LAN
To access the ThermaViewer over a LAN or a WAN it must be attached to a device server such as the Lantronix UDS-10 or the Lava Link serial to IP converter
If you are using a serial to IP converter you will need to redirect the com port to the internet address of the device server. The Lava link software that came with the serial to IP converter installs to the control panel of your computer. Once a com port is redirected to an ip address and the TView software is set to that com port, the TView will automatically connect to that ip address when it is set to that com port
International users: The TView program will download data and display the chart on the computer screen. However, if you save the data it will be saved in a US format (i.e. the separators between numbers will be a 'period' for a decimal point and a 'comma' between the 1000's). To load the saved chart into Excel and convert it so that the European style separators are shown, you must 'import a text file' under the 'Data Menu' and change the separators.
