2. Download the
PC data copy program (requires a password). This program, available to our registered users, copies data
from the ThermaViewer to a computer running Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT or XP. It can also be used to print out the time-temperature graph, save the data in tabular format as a csv file,
or save the data in encrypted format as a tvx file that can only be read or printed with the 2DI TView program.
3. The
ThermaViewer™ PC interface cable is 10 feet long and connects the
ThermaViewer™ to a serial port of a PC (Com1-Com9). The
ThermaViewer™ can be disconnected from it's probes and power source and walked over to a PC to download the data as long as a charged 9vdc battery is in place, or it can be permanently attached to the PC with an straight-through extension cable.
4. The PC interface cable can be extended by adding a straight-through three conductor cable with DB9 connectors. (Cable wiring)
5. If your computer only has a USB port a USB to serial port converted can be used.

7. The firmware in the
ThermaViewer™ is upgraded by replacing the microprocessor which is in a socket on the PCB board inside the
ThermaViewer™ This is normally done by sending the
ThermaViewer™ back to factory, however it can be done in the field,
at the user's risk, if the user has experience in replacing chips.
